  Site of the Day
  Lauwin-Planque
rue J. Cartier, Lauwin-Planque, INRAP

This site covers an area of 1.5 hectares. The first stage of construction took place during the 7th century. The settlement consisted of dispersed units with one building resting on posts, several hut bases and isolated graves. In the 9th century, the village was organised in aligned plots of land occupied by large buildings constructed on posts (of around 15m x 8m), huts for textile work, silos and several bread ovens. There was a cemetery nearby. The site was progressively abandoned during the 11th century.
